It's 7:30pm and you've already said no twice

The day was long. Dinner is done. And your child is asking for the tablet again, and honestly, you need twenty minutes.

So you say yes, because you have to. And somewhere in the back of your mind sits that small, familiar guilt.

You've tried to find the good screen time. You've searched "best kids videos" more times than you can count. You've been through YouTube Kids hoping the algorithm would finally understand. It doesn't.

You're not anti-screen. You're anti-chaos.

You know screens aren't going away. You just want something that builds real skills, like sharing, waiting, saying sorry properly, and handling a big feeling, instead of just filling the time.

And under all of it: you want them to carry something into real life. Not the stories they forget by Thursday. Just a little kinder. A little more helpful around the house.

If any of that sounds like you, you're in the right place.

Nurro doesn't teach letters or numbers

There's probably already an app on your tablet doing that. This is the other half. The part nobody built.

Most kids' apps teach

  • Letters and phonics
  • Counting and numbers
  • Shapes and colours
  • Early reading

There are already great apps for that. Keep one.

Nurro teaches

  • Sharing and taking turns
  • What to do with a big feeling
  • Please, thank you, greeting someone
  • Trying once more before giving up
  • Saying sorry, and then fixing it
  • Being gentle with small living things

Nothing academic. Nothing your child gets tested on.

Six everyday moments.

A two-year-old often wants the same story again and again because repetition helps the lesson sink in. We focus on creating meaningful stories children love to revisit, while thoughtfully adding new ones over time.

Kindness

Gentle hands, noticing when someone needs help

Sharing & Turns

Breaking things in two, counting to ten, waiting

Big Feelings

Three balloon breaths, naming the feeling out loud

Manners

Please, greeting one person, waiting for the last word

Brave & Trying

One more try, one small step, one small taste

Bedtime

Naming one good thing, slowing down, goodnight

New stories added every month, in the categories you already have.

How one story becomes one habit

The same four steps, every single time. About seven minutes, start to finish.

  1. 1

    One story, about three minutes

Animated, narrated, and built on one idea. Not a lesson, just a story your child asks for again tomorrow.

No autoplay. It ends when it ends.

  2. 2

    One small habit inside it

Break the last biscuit in half. Take three slow breaths when the feeling gets big. Count to ten before it's someone else's turn. Small, ordinary things a two-year-old can actually manage.

One habit per story. Never two.

  3. 3

    One tap to practise it

A short on-screen moment where your child does the thing themselves, like breathing along, splitting the biscuit, or making room under the umbrella.

Under a minute. No points, no timers.

  4. 4

You see what they keep choosing

Saturday morning: a short note on which stories your child came back to, which missions they finished, and what that suggests they're drawn to right now.

Minutes are in there too, just not the headline.

Every Saturday morning

A report on what your child keeps choosing

Most apps lead with how many minutes your child spent. That number has never once helped a parent decide anything. Here's what arrives instead.

Ahmad, this weekWeek of 12 October
  • Watched The Very Last Biscuit 3 times, more than any other story
  • Finished the sharing mission every time
  • Sharing & Turns is the shelf he keeps coming back to
  • Chose a bedtime story 5 nights running

Try this at dinner: ask Ahmad which half of something he'd give away.

Everything in here is something Nurro actually counted. We won't tell you your child "grew in kindness this week." No app can see what happens at your dinner table, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.

Built for a child, so built carefully

We ask for almost nothing

A first name and an age band. No surname, no photo, no date of birth, no contacts, no location. We can't lose what we never collected.

No ads, no ad trackers

Not "limited ads." None. There are no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics in the app your child uses, and nothing about your child is sold or shared.

Nothing plays on its own

When a story ends, it ends. No autoplay, no next-episode countdown, no feed pushing another one. Your child can pick another story if they want to. Nothing picks for them.

You can preview everything first

Every story is open to you before your child ever sees it, including the full video, the habit it teaches, and the exact conversation starters and discussion questions that come with it. Nothing here is a surprise.

The account is yours

You sign in; your child doesn't. There's no login screen for them, no password to remember, and no settings they can change. Set a daily time limit and, when the time is up, the story your child is watching finishes first, then the app winds down gently, without a countdown or a sudden cut-off. Switch the limit off for a quiet weekend, and back on whenever you want.

Yours to delete

Designed with children's privacy and data minimisation in mind. One tap in Settings removes your child's profile from your account immediately, and permanent deletion of the data completes within 30 days.

A note, since we're new

Nurro launched this month, so there are no reviews on this page yet. I'd rather say that plainly than invent some.

My wife and I built this because we kept seeing the same problem families face: parents need a quiet twenty minutes, but want that screen time to carry something useful into real life. The apps all promised learning. None of them promised anything beyond the screen.

It's still a small library, and I know it. Every story is built around exactly one habit. That's the part I'm not willing to rush.

If it isn't right for your family, email us within 14 days of your first charge and we'll refund it, no questions asked.
